On the Low-Latency Region of Best-Effort Links for Delay-Sensitive Streaming Traffic

This letter analyzes the Low-latency Region (LLR) of a best-effort link (i.e., no traffic differentiation, and first come serve scheduling) carrying both delay-sensitive (DS) streaming non-delay-sensitive (NDS) background traffic. Moreover, inside LLR, we show it exists proportional fair arrival rate allocation for DS NDS streams. optimal operating point results from maximizing simple throughput-delay trade-off that considers load, mean delay packets. To how presented could be used to allocate in realistic scenario, use Google Stadia traces generate flow. Results this use-case confirm also works regardless distribution packet service times.
